Hydrolats have varied uses and unlike their Essential Oil counterparts, they can be used directly on the skin. This makes them particularly idea for use with high risk groups such as babies, children, pregnant women and animals or those with fragile immune systems. Hydrolats are not simply Essential Oil added to water, as often wrongly assumed, and they cannot be manufactured synthetically. They have their own unique properties and composition distinct to both that of the source plant and its equivalent essential oil.
